Truth time.

I'm not going to write exclusively about the Enshittocene.

But just like I (we) live in the Anthropocene, an era when human beings are the most consequential inhabitants of Earth, and thus responsible for many major changes, I (we) live during the Enshittocene, the era of Enshittification aka Crapification, aka "Platform Decay", where it seems like everything gets just a little bit worse every day.

And so the Enshittocene is the framework around everything that I will be writing about.

Expect:

  • some systems analysis, especially if another pandemic hits;
  • some programming and single board computer (SBC) or microcontroller unit (MCU) projects;
  • some discussion of table top role playing games (TTRPGs) like D&D, and some parallel discussion of cliodynamics, Peter Turchin's work on applying mathematical modeling to history;
  • But...

I hope we'll have fun here. I don't know how often I'll post. I don't care if people subscribe or not. I certainly don't expect anybody to be willing to pay for this shit.
